Retro gaming for modern browsers

GridWorlds is a free online RPG toolkit that lets anyone create and play fantasy role-playing adventures with just a Web browser. In the best retro gaming traditions, GridWorlds is heavily influenced by classic games such as Ultima, Questron, and Rogue. If you always wished you could create your own 2D games without all the grueling programming, GridWorlds is for you.

Online RPG construction set

GridWorlds lets you build tile-based game worlds by drawing on a map grid like a paint program. Once you create a world you can share it with others and explore it with simple "avatar" characters you create. Worlds can be linked together via portals, which you add to the map as towns, castles, caves, etc.

Still under construction?

It's true, GridWorlds is not yet a complete game system (I prefer the term "in development"), but I wanted to get this little personal project on the Web to get feedback from my friends and others from the retro gaming community. I am slowly adding new features to this game system, so I would love to hear any suggestions.
